Dear Valued Customer/Partner,

Subject: Implementation of Sales & Service Tax for Rental and Leasing Services

Following the Ministry of Finance’s (“MoF”) announcement on 9 June 2025 regarding the expansion of the Sales and Service Tax (“SST”) scope, we would like to inform you of the following registration and implementation plans within the ICT Zone Asia Berhad Group:

  • Our wholly-owned subsidiary companies, namely ICT Zone Sdn Bhd and ICT Zone Ventures Berhad, will be registered under Group K (Rental/Leasing of Tangible Assets) and Group G (Information Technology Services) as outlined in the First Schedule of the Service Tax Regulations 2018 (“STR”) effective 1 August 2025. Consequently, an 8% SST will be applied to our rental, leasing, and IT services beginning 1 September 2025, which is the earliest permissible date for new SST registrants.
  • HaaS Technologies Sdn Bhd, a 58.25% owned subsidiary company within the ICT Zone Asia Group, who is an existing SST registrant, has applied for an expansion of its Service Tax scope under Group K. Therefore, an 8% Service Tax will be applicable to the relevant rental, leasing, and IT services, effective 1 July 2025.
